  • Become a Computer Science Student Ambassador
    •     Apply to become a student ambassador that represents that Department. 
  • Change Grade Mode to Pass/Fail (CS Courses Only)
    •     To change your grade mode from A-F to Pass/Fail. Exceptions include CS 1944 and CS 4944. Courses used to meet Computer Science, Data Centric Computing or Secure Computing degree requirements cannot be taken as Pass/Fail. Speak with your CS advisor for more information. 
  • Add or Change Major
    • To add or change your major to Computer Science, Data Centric Computing or Secure Computing. You are highly encouraged to review the information for new majors as well as the application process and submission cycles. 
  • Authorization to Take Courses Elsewhere
    • This form should be used if you are planning to take courses at a college or university in the United States of America, not part of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). Consult the University Registrar’s Transfer Guide to determine how domestic credits may transfer back to Virginia Tech.
    • The Transfer Guide may not accurately reflect course equivalency. The College of Engineering Dean's Office will email students if additional information or course syllabi are required.
    • If the course is not listed in the transfer guide, you will need to submit a syllabus for the course with your completed form.
    • Complete all fields on the form and submit it to your academic advisor. After your advisor signs, you will need to submit the form to the College of Engineering.
    • Transfer credit evaluations can take time. Start this process early so that you will know how your credits will transfer prior to taking courses elsewhere.
  • Computer Science DARS Update Request Form
    • For students in the Computer Science and Human Computer Interaction minors. To request that eligible courses be credited to your minor requirements. This includes crosslisted courses, some courses taken to be used for the accelerated masters program, and for HCI Minor Approval.
  • Computer Science Dismissal Appeal Form
    • For current students who were dismissed from the CS majors due to academic ineligibility. To request to be readmitted to the Computer Science, Data Centric Computing, or Secure Computing major. 
  • Computer Science Student Group Affiliation Request
    • To receive funding and support from the Computer Science Department, Virginia Tech Student Organizations should apply to be officially affiliated with the Department. 
  • College of Engineering Forms
    • Forms include late add, overload request, withdrawal requests, late drop and other forms processed by the College of Engineering Academic Affairs Office. 
  • Force/Add a Class
    •    If you need to add a course with available seats for which they meet the prerequisites can submit a request to be added to the course. Students are highly encouraged to review the force/add information before submitting the request. The request process is only open during specific periods during the academic year; generally, August, April, and January,
  • Request to Be Enrolled in Undergraduate Research or Independent Study
    • For students that have already been selected by Virginia Tech faculty to participate in undergraduate research or independent study. You are encouraged to review the full process and steps before submitting your request. 
  • Submit Content for CS Student Newsletters
    • If you have information to share with our students specific to upcoming events, trainings, fun events, professional development and other opportunities, please upload your information. Flyers in both horizontal and vertical format are preferred. Submitting content that has to be converted into a flyer will take longer to share with students. To have your content included in the current week's newsletter sent out on Fridays, please submit by Wednesday.
